11 Top EHRs For Small Practices

A new study identified 11 electronic health records products that analysts say offer the best features and long-term strategy to help small practices meet Meaningful Use requirements and prepare for healthcare reform, according to an InformationWeek report.


IDC Health Insights ranked the products based on conversations with about 30 practices employing 20 or fewer physicians. Analysts looked at whether the EHR has mobility options, how well it is supported, and whether it has complementary offerings such as practice management systems and a health information exchange.

Analysts found the following 11 EHRs, from 9 vendors, to most effectively meet small practice requirements:
