On June 19, CMS officials held a conference call revealing data and statistics for the PQRS program and the e-prescribing incentive program.
Key statistics for the PQRS Incentive Program include:
• 244,145 eligible professionals participated in the program in 2010.
• The number of EPs participating in the program increased by 16 percent between 2009 and 2010.
• The average incentive payment in 2010 was $2,157 for an individual EP and $20,364 for a physician practice.
• Total incentive payments increased by 65 percent between 2009 and 2010.
Key statistics for the e-Prescribing Incentive Program include:
• 113,073 eligible professionals received e-prescribing incentive payments in 2010.
• The number of EPs participating in the program increased by 26 percent between 2009 and 2010.
• The average e-prescribing incentive payment in 2010 was $3,836 per EP and $14,476 per physician practice.
• Total e-prescribing incentive payments increased by 83 percent between 2009 and 2010.
