surgeonCurrently, around 66 percent of physicians say they use electronic health records to meet meaningful use stage one requirements, according to the Deloitte 2013 Survey of U.S. Physicians. Of the physicians using EMR, the report found:

•    60 percent of physicians are satisfied with their EHR system;
•    74 percent report faster and more accurate billing services;
•    67 percent report time saving with e-prescribing;
•    67 percent say there was communication improvement and care coordination capabilities due to interoperability;
•    72 percent of physicians believe that in the next one to three years, at least 80 percent of physicians will adopt EHRs certified for meaningful use;
•    55 percent of think the hospital-physician relationship will suffer as physician privileges are put at risk to comply with hospital standards to meet meaningful use.
