Orthofix's Third Quarter Sales Up 4%, Orthopedics Sales Down 2%

Orthofix International posted third-quarter sales of $135.1 million, up 4 percent from the same period in 2008, according to a release from Orthofix.

Third quarter sales in its orthopedic business fell 2 percent but were up 4 percent in sports medicine and its spinal implants division generated 20 percent sales growth from its cervical and lumbar implant devices.

Spine sales were boosted by the introduction of the company's Firebird pedicle screw system and Pillar SA interbody device.
