Johnson & Johnson Names Alex Gorsky CEO

Johnson & Johnson announced CEO Bill Weldon will relinquish his role as CEO and Alex Gorsky will take his place.
Mr. Gorsky will become the company's CEO on April 26. He is currently vice chairman of the company's Executive Committee and will also succeed Mr. Weldon as chairman. Mr. Gorsky began his career with Johnson & Johnson three decades ago as a sales representative and advanced into management positions.

He previously served as president of the company's subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceutica and served as company group chairman of the pharmaceutical business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has also been the worldwide chairman of the surgical care group.
