Biomedical testing of the system showed no significant differences in fixation or stability between VIPER F2 and other conventional pedicle screws used to augment lateral interbody fusion. The system includes large diameter lag screws and fully functional polyaxial rings for achieving rigid fixation and compression of facet joints.
Surgeons insert the screw bilaterally through the superior side of the facet and across the facet joint into the inferior pedicle. The system can be used in either traditional or minimally invasive spinal fusions.
