Clemson Researchers to Explore Ways to Improve Knee Implant DesignWritten by Jaimie Oh | July 26, 2012
Researchers at Clemson University are working to improve implant designs, surgical techniques and patient selection criteria.
Researchers have partnered with the Greenville Hospital System for cadaveric specimens, which will be mounted on the Clemson knee simulator to determine the causes of unicompartmental knee arthroplasty failures and build improved implants around these shortcomings. Researchers will also use the experiment to improve UKA surgical techniques and patient selection criteria.
