Sens. Amy Klobuchar, Al Franken Seek to Delay Medical Device Tax

Spinal Tech

Minnesota Democratic Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken are fighting the medical device tax mandated by healthcare reform, according to the Star Tribune. The tax is expected to add $28 billion over the next year to help pay for federal reform. Sens. Klobuchar and Franken support the view that the tax is a job killer that would hurt innovation and thousands of high-paying jobs that device companies support in Minnesota.

Sen. Klobuchar co-authored a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid urging the governing body to delay the start of the tax to give lawmakers the opportunity to repeal or reduce it.
