San Jose, Calif.-based medical device company SI-BONE has a peer-reviewed journal article published on its iFuse Implant System. The iFuse is designed for treatment of sacroiliac joint disruptions or degenerative sacroiliitis. The article contains a study of 50 patients treated with the minimally invasive titanium implant and evaluated for pain and functional outcomes.

The study showed complication rates were low and 80 percent of patients would have the same surgery again, according to the release.

The iFuse implant has been given to 5,000 patients since 2009.
