Tritium Sternal Cable Plating System First Used in Open Heart Surgery

Spinal Tech

Pioneer Surgical Technology's Tritium Sternal Cable Plating System was used to close median sternotomies during an open heart procedure. The first surgical use of the system took place at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nevada. Robert Wiencek, MD, performed the surgery.

The system is designed to combine traditional cerclage cables and anterior plates and eliminate micro-motion in the sternum.
