7 New Orthopedic Device Launches & Releases

Zimmer, Warsaw, Ind.-based device company, has released its Trabecular Metal Total Ankle replacement and instrument system. The device is designed to be implanted from a lateral angle and to ensure proper alignment. Zimmer has also released its DTO 5.5 System, which is designed for disc degeneration with fusion and non-fusion treatments.

DePuy Synthes, based in Warsaw, Ind., has launched its ATTUNE total knee replacement system. ATTUNE is designed to provide a greater range of motion and to lessen the amount of instability patients feel.

Aesculap Implant Systems, based in Center Valley, Pa., has announced that its PL-AGE System is available for commercial use. The anterior cervical spinal fusion stand-alone device was designed by Fred Geisler, MD.  

OsteoMed, based in Addiston, Texas, has launched OsteoVation QWIK, a material of calcium phosphate and calcium sulfate designed to fill bone gaps.

Symmetry Medical, based in Warsaw, Ind., has launched its Bookwalter Self-Retaining Rotilt Ratchet, which allows for retraction from any position and multiple configurations.

Lanx, based in Broomfield, Colo., has released its ALTA Stand-Alone ACDF System. The system is designed for minimally invasive anterior cervical spine fusion procedures.
