Cleveland-based nonprofit venture JumpStart has pledged $250,000 to Akron, Ohio-based OrthoData for development of its diagnostic spine systems, including its implantable microelectronic spine fusion sensor, according to Today's Medical Developments. OrthoData, a medical device company, created its IntelliRod system to allow surgeons access to spinal fusions and assess success without exploratory surgery, according to the report.
