Carlsbad, Calif.-based Alphatec Spine reported a $32.7 million gross profit in the first quarter, up 2.9 percent from the $31.8 million gross profit during the same period last year. The company's total revenue also increased 4.1 percent, from $48.5 million in the third quarter of 2012 to $50.4 million. However, 2013's third quarter net loss came in at $2.6 million, up from 2012's $1.3 million.
Alphatec has several devices lined up for this year, including the Pegasus anchored, anterior cervical interbody device; Alphatec Solus anterior lumbar interbody fusion device; and ILLICO Multilevel minimally invasive system.
