MAKO Surgical Reports 26% Q1 Revenue Increase, MAKOplasty Surgeries Up 30%

MAKO Surgical reported revenue of $24.8 million in the first quarter of 2013, a 26 percent increase over the same period last year. However, the company also experienced net loss of $9,620. The company reported 2,988 MAKOplasty procedures performed in the first quarter, a 30 percent increase over the same period last year. This also increased system and service revenue.

The company reported selling six MAKOplasty total hip replacement applications and five RIO systems in the first quarter, bringing the total number of RIO systems installed to 156.
