Here are five recent mergers and acquisitions that took place among spine and orthopedic companies.

Cytos Biotechnology and Kuros Biosurgery merged. The merger will act as an exchange of Kuros shares for new Cytos shares, subject to shareholder approval and other customary conditions. The companies named the combined entity Kuros Biosciences.

 

Bioventus, an orthobiologics company, acquired medical device company BioStructures. The agreement includes the acquisition of BioStructures' entire portfolio of products and its research and development pipeline.

 

Smith & Nephew will acquire Blue Belt Technologies in a deal valued at $275 million. Smith & Nephew plans to focus on expanding Blue Belt's Navio system into indications beyond partial knees following the acquisition.

 

Nextremity Solutions acquired Del Palma Orthopedics' foot fusion technology. Nextremity Solutions intends to launch the technology as part of its product portfolio in the next year or so.

 

Integra LifeSciences acquired Tornier's Salto Talaris and Salto Talaris XT ankle replacement products, as well as Tornier's Futura silastic toe replacement products. Integra projects the contribution of the acquisition to adjusted earnings per share to be immaterial during the first 12 months.
