St. Luke's Wood River is 1st in Idaho to offer Mazor spine surgery: 5 highlights

Ketchum, Idaho-based St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center is the first in the state to offer robotic-guided spine surgery, according to KMVT 11.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. The center's surgeons use the Mazor Robotics Renaissance system for minimally invasive spine surgery.

 

2. With donor funding, St. Luke's Wood River Foundation bought the navigation system for $1 million.

 

3. David Verst, MD, completed the first Idaho spine surgery with the Renaissance system.

 

4. Dr. Verst commented the robotic system enhanced surgery accuracy, precision and efficiency.

 

5. Dr. Verst completed his spine surgery fellowship at San Francisco Spine Institute.
