Mark McFarland, DO, completed his 100th P-LIFT less exposure surgery at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, Va.
Here are four highlights:
1. On Oct. 27, Dr. McFarland fused the L5-S1 level of the patient's spine with SpineFrontier's LES-PLIFT interbody cage. The patient suffered from lumbar spondylosis and spondylolisthesis.
2. The LES-PLIFT implant is a posterior lumbar interbody, featuring a low-profile design and large graft window.
3. The implant is intended for use with less exposure surgery techniques, which are minimally invasive.
4. SpineFrontier is based in Malden, Mass.
Dr. McFarldna commented, "Optimal surgical performance, with minimal soft tissue dissection, is the emphasis in less exposure surgical techniques. This new fusion device allows me to restore spinal disc height and correct anatomical deformity with a very minimal, safe surgical approach."
