Castel San Pietro, Switzerland-based Medacta acquired Austrian distributor Vivamed. The companies have collaborated for 15 years and the acquisition is expected to strengthen Medacta's presence in Austria.
Plainsboro, N.J.-based Integra LifeSciences purchased Johnson & Johnson's Codman Neurosurgery business, based in Raynham, Mass. Integra believes the $1.05 billion acquisition will increase revenue from 3 percent to 6 percent long term after an in initial disruption.
France-based FX Solution allowed U.K.-based-Corin Group to distribute its Reverse Shoulder System in the U.S. after the device first gained FDA approval in January.
MIS spinal implant medical device company Vertebral Technologies, Inc., of Minneapolis strengthened its presence in Northern Europe by coming to terms with Germany-based Joline GmbH & Co KG, Finland-based Articular and Sweden-based Anatomica on distribution agreements. VTI hopes the cooperation agreements increase global awareness and access to its InterFuse implants.
Canton, Mass.-based Organogenesis acquired Birmingham, Ala.-based NuTech Medical to tap in to the profitable orthopedic and spine tissue product market.
Tempe, Ariz.-based MedPlast acquired Denver-based Vention Medical's Device Manufacturing Services business.
Leesburg, Va.-based K2M reached a five-year distribution agreement with Australia-based LifeHealthcare Group.
