Ortho Kinematics, an Austin, Texas-based healthcare diagnostics company specializing in spine imaging informatics, closed an $18.6 million Series D equity financing round.
Here are five notes:
1. The company will use the funds to expand commercialization of its Vertebral Motion Analysis technology.
2. The VMA technology represents Ortho Kinematics' flagship product. It is designed to offer radiographic assessment of spinal instability and alignment.
3. Ortho Kinematics commercially launched the VMA technology in 2015 and developed the VMA-Align module for assessing sagittal alignment in 2016.
4. The company plans to ramp up sales and marketing efforts as well as expand manufacturing and research and development initiatives.
5. The company did not disclose the financing terms of the funding round.
