Mazor Robotics received 19 system orders in the second quarter of 2017 and reported $15.4 million in revenue.
Here are five things to know:
1. The year-over-year revenue growth is significant; the company reported $8.3 million in revenue for the second quarter of 2017 and jumped to $15.4 million in the most recent quarter after launching the Mazor X system and partnering with Medtronic last year.
2. Sixteen of the 19 Mazor X systems purchased came from the United States and seven were trade-ins from customers who previously purchased the company's Renaissance system.
3. Three institutions purchased Mazor's Renaissance system; one of those orders was from the U.S. and two others were international.
4. Mazor reported a backlog of 14 systems at the end of the quarter, adjusted to reflect a Mazor X system ordered in the first quarter and then cancelled in the second. The company expects to deliver on the backlog in the second half of the year.
5. Mazor will report its full second quarter financial report on Aug. 1.
"The sales momentum and the successful execution of our growth strategies, supported by ongoing product innovation and the recent leadership additions and organizational steps, position Mazor for sustainable growth," said CEO Ori Hadomi.
