FDA clears Stimwave's StimQ Peripheral Nerve Stimulator, enabling full-body MRI scan: 4 points

Stimwave earned FDA clearance for its StimQ Peripheral Nerve Stimulator System.

Here are four points:

 

1. The StimQ Peripheral Nerve Stimulator System is the "first wireless, micro-technology neuromodulation device that can enable ongoing full-body MRI scans under certain scanning conditions for the relief of chronic peripheral nerve pain."

 

2. Surgeons implant the device via a minimally invasive procedure in the outpatient setting.

 

3. The stimulator is designed to treat shoulder pain, upper extremity neuropathy, mid and lower back pain and lower extremity neuropathy.

 

4. The device delivers small energy pulses to electrodes situated at a peripheral nerve.
