Stryker has acquired Concentric Medical in a cash transaction for $135 million, according to a Stryker news release.
The acquisition gives Stryker access to the acute ischemic stroke market, as Concentric Medical's products include a device for removing thrombus in patients with acute ischemic stroke and several AIS access products.

Projected 2011 sales for Concentric are more than $30 million, and the transaction is expected to close early in the fourth quarter of this year.
