The Allen Intraoperative Arm Positioner helps patients in the Beach Chair position who need elbow or shoulder surgery. The device indexes at the elbow, allowing surgeons to gain complete positioning control of the shoulder joint. The patent for this device is currently pending.
The device can achieve multiple states, including the semi-locked state, which allows surgeon to adjust the arm position without adjusting the tension. The device is designed for use during arthroscopic and open procedures for rotator cuff repair, Bankart repair, SLAP lesion repair, elbow fractures and clavicle repair.
