Brazil will be hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2014 FIFA World Cup, both of which will require a high level of orthopedic and sports medicine care. HSS has partnered with Amil Par to provide educational expertise on the opening of the new orthopedic center, Hospitalys.
The groups will begin initial planning phases during the first quarter of 2012. HSS leaders and surgeons will provide both clinical and research expertise to improve patient care and academic excellence at the new facility.
HSS physicians provided medical care during the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, and plans to provide care for athletes in future Games as well.
