Dr. Thomas Clanton Receives a Research Grant for Turf Toe Study

Orthopedic surgeon Thomas O. Clanton, MD, received a research grant by the Orthopaedic Education Foundation of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society for his work with turf toe injuries, according to PRWeb.com.
Dr. Clanton is the Director of Foot and Ankle Sports Medicine for The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo. He plans to evaluate turf toe injuries at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute using a method of analysis involving stress radiographs.

His study proposes a quantitative grading system based on the radiographs, which aims to help the sports medicine world figure out the best course of treatment for the relief of toe turf toe injuries.
