CMS Asks Surgery Centers to Resubmit Incorrect Medicare ClaimsWritten by Rachel Fields | January 13, 2012
CMS has indicated to the ASC Association that recent payments to surgery centers may not have reflected Congress' Dec. 23 vote to delay a potential reduction in physician payments due to the flawed SGR formula, according to an ASCA release.
The CMS payments may also not have taken into consideration the agency's correction of technical errors in determining payment rates. CMS recommends ASCs resubmit their Medicare claims if they believe they have not been properly reimbursed.
ASCA's rate calculator is available on the website and has been updated to reflect the revised rates.
