Rothman Institute Acquires Practice, 35% Stake in Surgical Hospital Featured

The Rothman Institute, based in Philadelphia, has made several deals as part of a larger move to prepare for healthcare reform, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report.
According to the report, the organization acquired Orthopedic Specialists in Bryn Mawr, Pa., a nine-physician practice that is part of Main Line Health. In addition, the Rothman Institute acquired a 35 percent stake in Physicians Care Surgical Hospital in Royersford, Pa. As part of that deal, Rothman Institute will add three orthopedic physicians who helped start the surgical hospital.
