L. Scott Levin, MD, FACS, is the chair of the University of Pennsylvania Health System's department of orthopedic surgery as well as the Paul D. Magnuson Professor of Bone and Joint Surgery.
Dr. Levin focuses on surgery of the hand and upper extremity, reconstructive microsurgical techniques for extremity reconstruction and limb salvage. He is also responsible for developing the field of "orthoplasty surgery."
Dr. Levin received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, his internship in general and thoracic surgery from Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C., completed three residencies at Duke as well as three fellowships, including one specializing in the hand, at Duke.
