Andrew A. Sama, MD, is an associate attending orthopedic surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and an associate professor of clinical surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, also in New York City. He has many areas of focus including complex spine surgery and minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Sama is involved in product development and helped design orthopedic implant devices which are now used in spinal surgery. In addition, Dr. Sama is on the editorial board of Current Reviews in Musculoskeletal Medicine and is a reviewer for Spine and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research.
Dr. Sama received his medical degree from The University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Sama is also fellowship-trained in surgery of spinal disorders and deformities at Hospital for Special Surgery/Weill Cornell Medical College.
