Russell F. Warren, MD, has been with Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City for 38 years. From 1993 to 2003, he served as surgeon-in-chief, and currently, Dr. Warren is also the team physician for the New York Giants football team.
Dr. Warren's subspecialty within orthopedic surgery is sports medicine, and his expertise lies in shoulder and knee instability, ligament reconstruction and arthroscopy, joint replacement of the knee and shoulder and rotator cuff disease.
In addition to his role as an attending orthopedic surgeon at HSS, Dr. Warren is also a professor of orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. In addition to many accolades and awards, Dr. Warren was named to the "Best Doctors in New York," feature in New York Magazine from 2009-2011.
Dr. Warren received his medical degree from State University of New York at Syracuse before completing a residency in orthopedic surgery at HSS. He also is fellowship-trained in shoulder surgery from Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.
