Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Frank Petrigliano of UCLA Health

Frank Petrigliano, MD, is a specialist in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, with an emphasis on shoulder, knee and elbow arthroscopy, as well as shoulder replacement.

Dr. Petrigliano was an assistant team physician for the New Jersey Nets during his sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He also served as a medical consultant to the United States Tennis Association and the US Open, and currently serves as an assistant team physician for the UCLA Athletic Department.

 

Most recently, the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation gave Dr. Petrigliano a grant to investigate how stem cells can be used to repair large rotator cuff injuries.

 

Dr. Petrigliano earned his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA School of Medicine.
