TRHS recently acquired Georgia Sports Medicine and its ambulatory surgery centers, according to the Tifton Gazette.
Here are five notes:
1. TRHS now employs the practice's orthopedic spine specialist, three general orthopedic surgeons, five physician assistants, a nurse practitioner as well as the office support staff.
2. TRHS presently owns several facilities including South Georgia Surgical, Affinity Clinic, Affinity Pediatrics, Affinity Hospital Medicine, Allure Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center of South Georgia, Tift Regional Pain Management Center, Work Smart Occupation Health as well as various other primary care outreach clinics in Southern Georgia.
3. The new orthopedic surgeons joining TRHS include James Scott, MD, Bill Smith, MD, Edward Hellman, MD, and David Banks, MD.
4. The ambulatory surgery center is now called the Tift Regional Outpatient Surgery Center.
5. Georgia Sports Medicine will implement a new computer and billing system under Tift Regional.
