Daniel D. Buss, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon practicing at Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists in Minnesota. Dr. Buss specializes in shoulder and elbow disorders. He is a member of various organizations including the American Shoulder and Elbow Society, Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
He founded Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists and previously served as the team physician for the Minnesota Twins from 1990 to 2012. Additionally, Dr. Buss is an orthopedic consultant for the University of Minnesota varsity athletes, Macalester College and Northshore Gymnastics.
Dr. Buss is the author of various papers and book chapters in addition to lecturing nationally and internationally. His research is published in various publications including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, American Journal of Sports Medicine and Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He completed his residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery through Cornell University Medical Center in New York City where he also completed a fellowship in shoulder and sports medicine.
