Board-certified in orthopedic surgery, Dean K. Matsuda, MD, is the director of DISC's Hip Arthroscopy Center of Excellence in California. He also is chairman of the Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy program committee for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Before joining DISC's team, Dr. Matsuda served as the chief of orthopedic and director of sports medicine at Kaiser West Los Angeles Medical Center. A pioneer in orthopedics, Dr. Matsuda has developed innovative surgeries for athletes with hip problems including an endoscopic treatment for osteitis pubis.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the Western Orthopaedic Association, International Society for Hip Arthroscopy and Arthroscopy Association of North America.
After earning his medical degree at University of California in Davis, he completed his residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
