Specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, Jeffrey A. Guy, MD, serves patients in Columbia, S.C. Board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he is an assistant professor in the department of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
He is the director of the University of South Carolina Sports Medicine Center, and is the medical director of the Athletic Training Education Program in the College of Education. Dr. Guy serves as an adjunct professor in the USC Arnold School of Public Health department of exercise science, and is a medical director and team physician of the University of South Carolina Athletics.
He serves as the team physician to more than 20 high schools in the Columbia area and 10 middle schools. He has served as director of the S.M.A.R.T. program since its inception in 2001. The program reaches out to athletic programs in the Columbia area and gives free pre-participation physicians to schools and their athletes.
After earning his medical degree from Harvard University in Boston Dr. Guy underwent his residency at the same institution. He completed fellowships at Boston Children's Hospital, American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala., and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
