Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Jonathan Schaffer of Cleveland Clinic

Jonathan Schaffer, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Schaffer earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland and completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He also completed fellowships at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston and the Children's Hospital of Boston.

 

Dr. Schaffer's medical specialty interests include reconstruction of arthritic knees, including joint replacement, treatment of arthrofibrosis after total knee replacement and the use of arthroscopic methods to treat arthritic knees. His research interests include perioperative pain management, integration of multimedia object-oriented databases in patient outcomes research and the biological effects of new surgical techniques, specifically lasers and minimally invasive surgery.

 

Dr. Schaffer is the author of more than 85 articles, book chapters and books, and he has developed a number of multimedia programs and computer software applications.
