Craig Della Valle, MD, won the Carl L. Nelson, MD Physician in Training Award.

Here are five notes:

 

1. Dr. Della Valle won the award for his manuscript, "Articulating vs. Static Spacers in the Management of Periprosthetic Knee Infection: A Randomized Clinical Trial."

 

2. The Program Committee of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association selected four papers for the award, including Dr. Della Valle's paper.

 

3. Practicing at Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, Dr. Della Valle is secretary for the board of directors of The Hip Society.

 

4. He is a professor of orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center.

 

5. Dr. Della Valle completed his adult reconstructive surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center and Central DuPage Hospital in Winfeld, Ill.
