Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Michael Alexiades of the Hospital for Special Surgery

Michael M. Alexiades, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Dr. Alexiades earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in Ithaca, N.Y., and completed his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He also completed a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

 

Dr. Alexiades focuses on conditions of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow, including arthroscopic surgery for each of these joints, joint-sparing surgery and joint replacement. He is an early adopter of the mini anterior technique in hip replacement surgery, as well as partial knee replacement.

 

Dr. Alexiades has been active in the development of hip and knee implant design and instrumentation, including the Biomet Vision Hip system and Biomet knee systems.
