Florida-based Coastal Orthopedics Sports Medicine and Pain Management's Alan Valadie, MD, performed the center's 100th outpatient joint replacement, according to Bradenton Herald.
Here are four things to know:
1. Specializing in joint replacement, Dr. Valadie has performed more than 6,500 joint replacement procedures.
2. Dr. Valadie underwent his orthopedic surgery residency at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
3. Coastal Orthopedics has performed joint replacement surgery for more than thirty years. The practice currently has a rate of 1,000 joint procedures each year.
4. In 2013, the practice started offering patients total joint replacements in outpatient centers.
