Michael P. Clare, MD, is a practicing orthopedic surgeon at Tampa-based Florida Orthopaedic Institute, where he also serves as director of the foot and ankle fellowship. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, Orthopaedic Trauma Association and AO North America.
Dr. Clare has presented at more than 70 local, national and international meetings and instructional courses. He has published more than 30 research articles, book chapters and abstracts. He is a reviewer for Foot and Ankle International, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. He is also an affiliate associate professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa.
Dr. Clare earned medical degree from the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine in Omaha. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Creighton University/University of Nebraska Health Foundation, also in Omaha. He completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery/lower extremity reconstruction at Florida Orthopaedic Institute in conjunction with Tampa General Hospital.
