Robert Ballock, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing at the Cleveland Clinic, where he has previously served as head of the section of pediatric orthopedic surgery and the director of the Center for Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery in the Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic Institute at the Cleveland Clinic. He currently serves as professor of surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Ballock is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and Orthopaedic Research Society. His clinical interests include pediatric fractures and sports injuries, skeletal development, hip dysplasia, clubfoot, deformity correction and leg lengthening. He also performs the Ponseti method for clubfoot treatment. He has won numerous awards over the course of his career, including the Elizabeth Winston Lanier Award from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthur B. Huene Award from the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He also completed the North American Traveling Fellowship awarded by American Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Ballock earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He completed his residency at University of California San Diego Medical Center. He has completed three fellowships at the National Institutes of Health, Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.
