David H. MacDonald, DO, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing at Columbus, Ga.-based Hughston Clinic. Dr. MacDonald is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and American Osteopathic Association. He is pursuing active membership in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. MacDonald focuses on conditions of the elbow and hand. He has served in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. He was stationed in Japan for two years, serving as the sole hand and upper extremity specialist in the Western Pacific. He received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his service. He has also served as team physician for the Midland Rockhounds, a minor league affiliate of the Oakland A's organization.
Dr. MacDonald earned his Kirksville (Mo.) College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Michigan State University in East Lansing and completed a fellowship of the hand, upper extremity and microsurgery in Birmingham, Ala.
