Judson L. Penton, MD, is a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon at The CORE Institute at Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists in Lafayette. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Penton focuses on arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee as well as sports medicine. He is a member of the medical staff for men and women's Division I varsity sports teams at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Previously, Dr. Penton served as the medical director of sports medicine for North Oaks Hospital System in Hammond, La. He was also head team physician and orthopedic surgeon for all men and women's Division I varsity sports teams at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
Dr. Penton earned his medical degree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He completed his residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. He has also completed a sports medicine fellowship at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson.
