Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Health is building a 60,000-square-foot building dedicated to orthopedic services, according to TheLedger.com.
Here are five things to know:
1. The $25 million building will also offer rehabilitation and sports medicine services.
2. Lakeland Regional Health also purchased new equipment including:
• A therapy pool
• Audiology testing booth
• Computerized software to guide therapists on patient plans
• Equipment for hand rehabilitation and eye-hand coordination
3. The second floor, which is 30,000 square feet, is designated for physician office space.
4. The 18 physicians staffing the building will begin seeing patients on June 13. Lakeland expects to open the expanded orthopedics and rehabilitation/sports medicine centers on June 20.
5. The building will offer two fellowship-trained trauma surgery subspecialists who will provide after-care services. Additionally, pediatric orthopedists will provide care for specialty cases twice a week.
