Edmund R. Campion, MD, serves as the Frank C. Wilson Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedics and chair of orthopedics at UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. He has previously served as the director of the orthopedic residency program at UNC School of Medicine.
Dr. Campion focuses on pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine and trauma. His research interests include anterior knee pain; growth plate modulation and limb malalignment/length inequality among pediatric and adolescent patients. He is a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of Operation Smile and has provided charity care in numerous developing countries, such as Colombia and Panama. His work has been published in numerous journals, such as Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery.
Dr. Campion earned his medical degree at Dartmouth University in Durham, N.C. He completed his residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his fellowship training at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del.
