Robert Tracy Ballock, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at the Beachwood, Ohio, office of the Cleveland Clinic. He specializes in pediatric orthopedics, including the treatment of pediatric fractures and sports-related injuries.
He serves as the head of the section of pediatric orthopedic surgery and the director of the center for pediatric orthopedic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Ballock is a professor of surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He holds memberships with American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and Orthopaedic Research Society, among other professional societies.
Dr. Ballock earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston and performed an orthopedic surgery residency at UC San Diego Medical Center. He went on to complete three fellowships: a cellular and molecular biology research fellowship at Bethesda, Md.-based National Institutes of Health, an orthopedic research fellowship at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Hospital and a pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Dallas-based Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
