Don C. Beringer, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoGeorgia, a practice with five locations throughout the state. His clinical and research interests include computer assisted joint replacement surgery and the prevention of post-surgical deep vein thrombosis.
He serves as an assistant professor in the department of Mercer University School of Medicine and as the chairman of the department of surgery at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, both located in Macon, Ga. As chairman, he leads the medical center's operating room quality committee and the joint replacement service line. He is an associate editor for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and holds memberships with American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, among other professional societies.
Dr. Beringer earned his medical degree at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at Ohio-based Summa Health System and a musculoskeletal oncology and limb salvage fellowship at Gainesville-based University of Florida.
