James B. Montgomery, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Texas Orthopaedic Associates, a practice with locations in Dallas and Plano. His clinical interests focus on knee surgery and sports medicine.
He is a member of the U.S. Olympic Team, having served as a physician to the U.S. Delegation for the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics, head physician for the 1992 Summer Olympics in in Barcelona and the vice chairman of sports medicine for the United States Olympic Committee. He has also served as a clinical professor at Dallas-based University of Texas Southwestern. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Montgomery earned his medical degree at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he also performed a residency in orthopedic surgery. He went on to complete a sports medicine and knee surgery fellowship at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
