Koco Eaton, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Eaton Orthopaedics in the Tampa Bay area.
He specializes in sports medicine and currently serves as team physician for NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, MLB's Tamp Bay Rays and MLS' Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Dr. Eaton obtained his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore before completing his fellowship in sports medicine under James Andrews, MD, at the American Sports Institute in Birmingham, Ala., and his orthopedic surgery residency at The Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.
His interest in sports medicine stems from his own athletic career, and he opened his practice to focus on treating sports injuries. His written work has been widely published and he serves as a teaching physician at Tampa, Fla.-based University of South Florida pediatric residency program in sports medicine.
