Rolando Garcia Jr., MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Aventura, Fla.-based Orthopedic Care Center.
He specializes in spine surgery and treating scoliosis and has served as chief of orthopedics at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Garcia has participated in several FDA investigational device exemption trials and has published written works in numerous peer reviewed journal publications.
After obtaining his medical degree at New Orleans-based Tulane University, Dr. Garcia stayed on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery. He was named chief resident by the Medical Center of Louisiana in New Orleans and was awarded the Thibodeaux Award for exemplifying exemplary qualities of leadership as a senior resident. Dr. Garcia then completed his spine surgery fellowship at the Chapel Hill-based North Carolina Spine Center.
